June 7 Primary Information

Five days left in this pivotal election!  A few items:

Attached is our Local 21 Slate Card — a list of our endorsements in races across the Bay Area.  You can also view the list here.  A note for Members who live in San Jose: there’s some confusion over Measure B, a 1/4 cent sales tax on Tuesday’s ballot.  Local 21 is urging a yes vote on this initiative — supporters include a variety of individuals and groups, including Mayor Sam Liccardo, the Chamber of Commerce and the South Bay Labor Council.  This is NOT the same Measure B from 2012 that cut San Jose worker retirement benefits.

Early Voting/Ballot Drop Off

If anyone needs to vote early or drop off a vote-by-mail ballot before Tuesday — click here for locations and hours (scroll down the page a bit).  Turnout will be key in this Primary Election — thank you for researching and voting in the June 7 Primary.

Also, please consider volunteering with Local 21 Members and Staff the next several days to help turn out voters from Sergio Jimenez, Helen Chapman, Erik Fong and Josh Barousse for San Jose City Council, and Ash Kalra for State Assembly.  Attached and below is our GET OUT THE VOTE schedule of events.  November does not matter if we don’t get these people into the top two on Tuesday.
